Summer Herbal Blooms, I can't wait.

Dried Bouquets
I'm so chomping at the bit in anticipation of the flowers coming again this year.  As everything warms up and leafs out and then come the flowers.  Lots of very fragrant Lavender, Roses, Calendula, and Melissa.  And so many others but these are some that bloom in such profusion.  It's nice that they each have their medicinal properties too.

I have used the Lavender in my hand cream.  I think I'd also like to try the calendula in the cream and maybe distill out some rose water this year.  The Melissa makes a wonderful tea.

I love them fresh in the garden, in fresh herbal bouquets, and I love to make buckets and buckets of potpourri.  Benzoin is something nice to add to the potpourri to help hold the scent, and it has its own nice vanilla scent.

  1. Not only are herbs tasty additions to lots of recipes and the basis of teas, rubs, spice blends and more, but many also offer health-promoting and medicinal.herbal

    1. Hi Richard, Sorry I didn't come across your comment sooner. Yes it is wonderful that herbs are so very health promoting. It is just after Christmas now, I'm so looking forward to the herbs in the spring and summer.
