Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! And the other Goats

Aurora

Philip

Ariel

Wendi

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!  Or in our case it would be Wendi, Wendi, Wendi!  I'm sure my goats get annoyed that I take so many pix of Wendi.

Let me explain.

It's not just that I've had Wendi the longest.  Wendi is her own little goat, does things her way.  She's smart as a whip (that's why we have double locks on the gates).  She's super friendly and a great milker when we go that route.  Wendi is the only one who will hold still long enough that I can get a decent picture.  She sees the camera and steps back to pose, very photogenic.  (I think of her as the Marilyn Monroe of goats, she even has the black mole on her cheek).  The others get excited and climb and jump towards me, I'm not good with action shots.

But I do get it, they want their pictures taken too.  So this time I decided to feed them, then take their pictures.  That way they had something else to have their minds on.

So we have Ariel, her mama was Aponee (she was a nice goat, but very needy and noisy).  Ariel spent a good amount of time with Wendi when she was a baby when her mama was off being bred.  So Ariel learned quickly to be a quiet content little goat.  She's full of spunk.

Her two little kids are Aurora and Philip.  Aurora is sweet and spunky like her mama, I have to keep an eye on her so she doesn't jump on me in her glee.  Philip is our little guy we thought was a goner his first winter.  He pulled through it though and has a real place in our hearts.  He's not much of a jumper, more of a leaner.
